This beautiful statement ring was handmade from genuine 1847 Rogers Bros. silver-plated flatware, a name that has been associated with decorative American silverware for generations.

The original piece features deeply raised floral and scroll detailing, a smooth central cartouche area, and a dramatic scalloped edge that gives the ring a bold, antique look.

I carefully reshape, smooth, polish, and finish each piece by hand, preserving as much of the original silverware pattern as possible while turning it into a wearable statement ring.

✨ Pattern & History

Maker: 1847 Rogers Bros.
Material: Vintage silverplate
Style: Ornate floral, scroll, and cartouche design
Pattern: Believed to be from an older 1847 Rogers Bros. decorative pattern family
Exact year: Not yet fully confirmed

One possible match is the Portland pattern, introduced in 1891, but because this ring has already been formed from the original flatware, I prefer not to state the exact pattern as fact until it is fully confirmed.

What I can confirm is that this piece carries the genuine 1847 Rogers Bros. backstamp and has the elaborate decorative styling associated with older silverplate patterns.

The Story Behind My Spoon Jewelry

My love for vintage silverware grew while researching my own family history.

During that journey, I discovered a distant family connection to President John Adams, which sparked an even deeper interest in genealogy, antiques, and the stories older objects can carry.

Along the way, I began finding vintage presidential commemorative spoons and transformed some of them into my first spoon rings.

That experience changed the way I looked at old silverware.

Instead of seeing a forgotten spoon or fork, I started seeing the beautiful patterns, craftsmanship, and history that could be preserved and worn in a completely new way.

Today, finding pieces like this ornate 1847 Rogers Bros. pattern is one of my favorite parts of creating spoon jewelry.

Please Note

This ring is made from vintage silver-plated flatware, not sterling silver.

Because I use genuine older silverware, your ring may show subtle marks, patina, or signs of its previous life. These details are part of the character of the original piece and help make every ring unique.

Care

To help preserve the silver-plated finish, avoid harsh chemicals and prolonged exposure to water.

A soft silver-polishing cloth may be used when needed.
